Many investors have asked this question while researching XTRABYTES (XBY). And it is indeed a legitimate one. It’s also human nature. Seeing a name or a face helps one feel slightly more confident and/or comfortable with what is unfamiliar.
But it’s also very human to want to stay out of the limelight and keep your privacy. Not only for one’s own protection but for the sake of their friends’ and family. This is why the XTRABYTES team has chosen to stay relatively private. When XTRABYTES becomes a household name, much of the media’s focus will fall on its creator and the core development team. Satoshi Nakamoto was well aware of this when he created Bitcoin.
So ask yourself, would you feel comfortable if that was you? Wouldn’t you want to just keep doing what you love rather than being bombarded by millions of people online? We must also remember that XTRABYTES is still in its infancy. In time, media representatives will likely emerge to speak for it.
However, we can provide investors with some general information regarding the development team – as well as information on our wonderful community. First and foremost, XTRABYTES is a team effort. It’s a community platform built by and for our community. And it’s easy to get involved (more on that below).
A Hungarian cryptocurrency developer named Zoltan Szabo (aka Borzalom) is the lead developer of XTRABYTES. Like many others investors, Borzalom was a victim of the Bitmox scam. After the scam, he decided to create a real community for Bitmox victims. And ultimately, he decided to repair the source code and rebuild the node network.
Additional details about how XBY was created by Borzalom can be found here. I encourage you to read it in order to understand this man’s passion for the project. And if you have time, I strongly recommend watching this video created by CCRevolution (the other XBY co-founder, along with Borzalom). Dave (CCRevolution) speaks about how he came to know Borzalom and how they came together to create XBY out of the Bitmox ashes. It’s quite a touching story.
In addition to Borzalom, three other developers are currently working on the core XBY blockchain. Another small team is working hard on the X-CITE client, the front-end application designed to provide easy access to XTRABYTES’ core functionality (you can read more about X-CITE here). And yet another team has been created to ensure that the UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) compliment each other (both must be taken into account in order to ensure functionality across desktop and mobile versions).
Finally, several groups have been created to produce the initial modules expected to run on the XBY platform: X-VAULT (data storage), X-CHAT (decentralized messaging), X-CHANGE (a decentralized crypto exchange), as well as others that have not been announced. As you can see, XBY is not just a coin. It’s a whole new platform.
You can talk with the developers themselves, just log into our Discord group. They are quite busy though, so you may have to wait a little!
The Broader Community
While the platform’s technical development is crucial to its success, the strength and support of XBY’s broader community is equally crucial. This includes our many translators, writers, marketing and social media professionals, graphic designers, managers, forum and chatroom members, etc. In our most recent community payment, over 90 people received XFUEL in return for their hard work. Of course, each and every XBY holder is considered a vital part of our community as well.
Here’s a brief breakdown of the community as it stands at the time of writing:
- Our Reddit has just recently passed 4000 subscribers.
- Our Telegram channel has approximately 2500 members.
- Our Discord group is very active (now over 3000 members) and includes channels in over 20 different languages. It also has a dedicated support channel with live tech support personnel ready to assist.
- Our community forum has over 1000 registered members, and includes sections on just about anything related to XTRABYTES.
- We have around 25 country-specific facebook groups. In addition, the XTRABYTES web page and blog are currently being translated into over 26 different languages! All done by our community members.
It is the combined strength of all these these groups that makes XBY such a special project. When I first found XTRABYTES, I too had reservations due to the developer’s anonymity. But when I joined in I was blown away by the number of people willing to volunteer their time to help improve and expand the project. This is my first of what will likely be many articles for XTRABYTES. Although I am still relatively new to the project, I wholeheartedly embrace it and look forward to witnessing its bright future.
We are always looking for people to help out! Anyone is welcome regardless of where you live, your academic background, etc. Find out more about joining the team.
So, who is behind XTRABYTES?
You. Me. All of us.
